The Last of the Starmakers is like one of the most memorial and saddest episode I’ve seen on this show, especially when watching beginning. Even as a child you would be able to understand the love and heartbreak a mother can have.
You have these two giant squids that makes stars in space, and they’re so happy and joyful to be together and to be expecting a whole family together.
But then you have a giant whale that eats the stars, and the father has to sacrifice itself to keep the mother and the unhatched children alive because he just loves them that much.
A tearful farewell, the mother comes to earth to hatch her eggs where she happens upon Courage’s home in Nowhere.
Things happen; Eustace sells the mother and eggs to the military, and it’s up to Courage to save the dying mother and to keep the stars twinkling in the sky.
In the end, the eggs hatches and the babies float to the sky and become the new star makers
And the success mother, one that provided another generation of stars, dies to become a beautiful garden, “from making stars above to making flowers on earth.”
